30 Days to Market Mastery

- Aucun commentaire

INTRODUCTION :

Financial markets throughout the world have changed their nature and structure dramatically since the 1970s. High-speed computers, powerful analytical software, the declining cost of commissions, instantaneous communications via the Internet, rapid dissemination of financially related news, business radio and television, the emergence of second- and third-world powers as significant financial and monetary forces, and the growing world dependence on fossil fuel have all combined in one grand "machine" to change the face of the markets. Events that affect the Chinese currency can and will have a ripple effect on currencies and markets the world over. Stock prices can be influenced dramatically by trends in underlying commodity prices. Daily price volatility has exploded in virtually every sector of the financial markets. This has created more opportunity as well as more risk. It has also narrowed the differences between stock and commodity markets.
Indeed, in recent years there has been a growing participation by hedge funds, pension funds, and investment companies in the commodity markets.
The search for effective and consistent trading information has taken traders in many directions, some productive, most of them dead ends. My goal in this course is to give you some solid tools that you can implement into your trading plan whether in stocks, commodities, or both. I have provided examples of my methods in stocks as well as in commodities. Some methods are exclusively geared to commodities; however, most are applicable to both.

101 Option Trading Secrets

- Aucun commentaire

PREFACE :

Option trading is one of the greatest games on earth! You can be a two-dollar investor, betting on the action of stocks, the markets, futures and/or commodities, or you can be the casino or a legalized bookie, taking the bets instead of making the bets.

You pick the role and have the fun and profit. With options, gains of over 1000% are not unusual, and you can design strategies that will win up to 90% of the time.
Better yet, options are an excellent investment tool that gives you much more flexibility, reduces your risks and increases your income in the investment markets. Once properly learning to use options, you will use this tool in your investment portfolio for the rest of your life.

However, many novice option traders, as they start trading, encounter many disappointments and issues in the options markets and leave with a bitter taste, for they have unrealistic expectations and are not equipped to compete in this game.
This book will help the novice option traders as well as the experienced option traders become better equipped to stay in the game and compete successfully.

I have been trading options since the option exchanges first opened in 1973 and have seen everything. As an option newsletter writer starting in 1973, I have monitored and talked to hundreds of traders. Now you can have the benefit of all this experience and information.

This book provides important nuggets of knowledge about option trading that I have collected over the past thirty years: strategies, tactics and methods that have worked and not worked for me and my subscribers.

101 Investment Tools for Buying Low and Selling High

- Aucun commentaire

Preface

Decades ago, investors scrambled to get the smallest bit of "inside" knowledge from  stock, bond, and other investment markets. Stock quotations had to be gleaned from  a broker and yields were best found at the bank. A need for detailed statistics required  either expensive market newsletters or a trip to the library—or both.

Today, the challenge is very different. The chore is to sort through the vast array  of facts. There are figures available in the local newspaper, no less, the national   financial newspapers—The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Investor's Business Daily—and  in investment magazines—Forbes, Money, Smart Money, Worth—on television—  CNNfn, CNBC—on a home computer and on the Internet. Then, of course, there is  the information contained in the many market advisoiy services that still thrive.

Consider this: A typical major city newspaper contains quotations on more than  8000 stocks, bonds, and mutual funds and more than 100 indexes. Add to that  expanded coverage of economic statistics or the added availability of such   information on television, radio, and via online information services accessed by home   computers. Most investors are not able to decipher what is up from what is down.

707 Investments Tools for Buying Low and Selling High is designed to help the  investor cut through all the statistical noise. It gets a reader quickly to the best   financial barometers and helps him or her make informed investment decisions.

More than just an ordinary investment dictionary, 707 Investment Tools analyzes,  in a concise style, the vaiious investment vanes—from stock indexes to measures of  housing affordability to leading economic indicators. The reader will learn what these  measures are, who is compiling them, where they are easily found (publications,  media, more) and how they can, or cannot, be used to guide investment decisions. All  in a handy, carry-along format.

In the ongoing complex investment climate we live in, those who understand and  can use such investment tools will be the ones who succeed.

The authors are grateful to Allison Shim for her enormous word-processing and  spreadsheet assistance and Marianne, Rachel, and Jake Lansner for being so   understanding during this project.

10 Essentials of Forex Trading

Preface

I am thrilled to be a part of your trader's journey and I am excited  about your interest in Forex. Forex, or the foreign exchange market, offers incredible financial opportunity for those who are ready for the  adventure, but it can be disastrous and financially devastating for  those who are unprepared. My focus as an author is to be a mentor to  those readers eager to enter the world of Forex trading. Some of the material  in this book took me years to discover, develop, and just plain figure out.  I hope you will realize that this book, although written primarily for  traders, is ultimately about self-improvement. I have discovered that no one  can become successful at trading, or for that matter at anything, without  first establishing their personal constitution. It is this aspect of yourself that  either destroys you or allows you to succeed in life, and that includes Forex.

To be successful in your financial journey, you will need to be prepared  for what the market demands the most change and discipline! If you  cannot find the courage to change and then remain disciplined to that change,  you will be unable to develop a trading strategy that aligns with your   personality and your perception of life.

Every trader is looking for the "holy grail"; that little piece of truthful  and accurate information that works consistently! In my own trader's   journey, I discovered that the holy grail is knowing when to get in the market  and why and when to get out and why. If you can learn the when and the  why, you will be able to make market movements work for you allowing you to capture the majority of potential profit from the move. When you do  this, you have discovered your personal holy grail in trading! I believe this  book can become your holy grail if you let it!

Trading needs to be fun, emotionally exciting, personally and   financially fulfilling, and stress-free.
If you are going to be successful at trading,  you will need to acquire a trading strategy that is easy to execute, easy to  understand, easy to obey, and that works for you consistently. You will also  need to master your emotions. Success lies in mastering four skills, three of  them technical. These technical skills include knowing:
       1. How to find market direction in any time frame, anytime, 24 hours  a day.
      2. How to establish a successful entry strategy that works consistently.  Every trader wants the market to move in his or her direction  from entry.
      3. How to create two solid exit strategies: one to protect yourself  financially should the market not go your way, and one to capture  profit if it does.

The remaining skill is more difficult; it is learning how to overcome the  battle that takes place in your mind. Believe it or not, our daily destructive  habits hold us back from achieving what is rightfully ours in this life.

Learning to become a successful currency trader is a dream highly sought  after by countless people around the world. I am here to tell you that it is a  worthy and attainable dream.

I have learned that achieving one's goals and dreams is a matter of  mental discipline. Dreams are attainable! However, there is a set of steps that  needs to be mastered in order to make your dreams come true. This book  will help you to learn these steps and to acquire the courage and commitment to take them. Always remember that man was not created to just get  by he was created to reach his highest potential!

"If another person can do it, YOU can do it!"

15 Minutes of Fame: Becoming a Star in the YouTube Revolution

- Aucun commentaire

The story of YouTube co-founders Chad Hurley , Steven Chen , and Jawed Karim might seem
like the ultimate rags-to-riches fairytale, a com- puter geek version of Cinderella. In only two years,
YouTube has become the number-one online video site, selling to corporate giant Google for $1.65
billion in stock in 2006, and supporting over 50,000 visitors in the month of June 2007. It has
morphed from an unsuccessful dating site to a thriving website, delivering user-generated questions
for candidates at the 2007 Presidential Debates. The founders themselves do not even seem to particularly fi t the role of billion-dollar CEOs. As one YouTube user commented after viewing Hurley and Chen’s video announcement of the Google sale, “Apparently when you become a billionaire, you become a perpetually smirking idiot. God, I hope that happens to me some day.” Despite outward appearances, however, YouTube’s founders did not simply stumble across a glass slipper. A closer look reveals a story of entrepreneurial savvy, revolution- ary ideas concerning new media and technology, and dedication to an identity that resonates with the young, emerging generation of consumers and artists. But where did.
